That Hurt, But I am Back On My Board

When learning new tricks, I think a simple rule of thumb is that if you’re not going down, you are not trying hard enough. Simply put, wiping out is as much a part of skating as Swiss bearings. When trying to master a new move, you’re going to fall, even the pros bail when their trying something new. The real trick is getting up and getting back on the board, no matter how hard you bail and try again. The odds are that , unless there is a city bus coming, that bail is not going to be your demise. Being a skater is not for the weak or gutless. Unlike most other sports, bleeding is pretty much a requirement when it comes to skating. I know it can be very intimidating when you roll up on 12 steps with a handrail, but if you don’t try it, you will never know how good you will be at it and it is very likely that on your first few attempts you are going to slam, but you have to have the heart to try. No matter how scared you get, you just have to strap that chin strap extra tight, click that tail and throw down the sickest, fattest 50-50 grind imaginable and you probably will slam on the first few attempts. Give blood ………………… Skateboard.
