That Trick Looks Easy, How Do I Do It?

If you have ever been to a skateboarding contest or at a park where skateboarders come together to share in their hobby, then you know how cool their easy tricks for skateboarding are. If you want to know how they do some of their awesome tricks all you have to do is have a will to do it and beleive that you can do it. The rest is as simple as using technique and your body. For example, a flat ground shove is simply taking your back foot and scooping around. An Ollive shove is trick that does not involve any popping. You just ride on the front of your skateboard and do similar moves as you would for the flat ground shove. For a half cab turn, you basically do a fakie backwards then turn your skateboard about 180 degrees around without popping and ride forward again. A fakie flip is a little more complex but its easy if you are comfortable with popping and flipping. You want to make sure you have good balance and posture for this trick. Skateboard Your Way to A New Hobby

A new hobby can be hard to find if you have no particular interest in mind or goals that you hope to achieve through your hobby. But when it comes to exactly how to spend your time, skateboarding has all of the bases covered. Skateboarding is certain to get you active and into the outdoors. Once a person has a decent amount of ability on a skateboard they are instantly mobile! These people want to take off and explore parts of their town that would not normally be accessible by foot or in a car. For those that are already of the outdoor type, off-road boarding for thrill seekers becomes a passion. Another advantage of entering the world of skateboarding is that it almost always leads to exploring other interests.

As you get to know others that have been skateboarding for an extended period of time, you will realize that skateboarding has the potential to be much more than a hobby. It is a lifestyle, a sign of your attitude and your drive. While it may be difficult to master at first and many of even the most basic tricks take lots and lots of practice or even injuries to master, the rewards are great. Skateboarders have their own lines of clothing and tend to gravitate towards a particular kind of music.

Entire subcultures have been built around the sport. The popularity of skateboarding is evident through the growing crowds that attend competitions such as the annual “X Games.” Skateboarding can be developed into a hobby that not only encourages you to be in better physical health and explore the outdoors, it also encourages building relationships with others who are into the sport. Parents who are concerned with finding activities whose superstars are good role models can also count on skateboarding. Games and public statements by Tony Hawk and other names synonymous with the sport offer new skateboarders nothing but positive messages and encouragement.
